New camera detects solar panel defects better

Why pack when you can laser?

Instead of printing the barcode on the packaging, it can also be lasered directly onto the skin of fruit or vegetables. This saves on packaging costs and protects the environment. But to ensure that the peel is not damaged in the process, the focus of the laser must be precise, despite the fact that the individual fruits are always different sizes. A 3D sensor from a company in northern Germany helps with this.

The Dutch company Van Raam, based in Varsseveld, produces special bicycles that enable people with limited mobility to enjoy independent mobility. It manufactures its products according to the individual needs of the future owners. Many components are therefore manufactured as one-offs with different shapes and dimensions. Vision 2021: The hygiene concept of Vision 2021 is ready

A four-stage hygiene concept is designed to ensure the safety of exhibitors and visitors at Vision 2021. Thus, participants must either be recovered, vaccinated or tested. In addition, masks are compulsory. Spacing through wider aisles and an increased exchange of fresh air are also part of the concept. 250 exhibitors have registered so far.

Panasonic unites camera business in new company

Panasonic is restructuring its camera business: Accordingly, the European business units "Security Solutions" and "Industrial Medical Vision" (IMV) will be merged into the newly founded independent company i-PRO Emea B.V. (i-PRO Emea). Both business units are headquartered in Wiesbaden, Germany, and are currently still part of Panasonic System Communications Company Europe (PSCEU). The new company is scheduled to begin operations on Oct. 1, 2021, as part of Japan-based Panasonic i-PRO Sensing Solutions Co. (PIPS).

New Release 4.0 of EMVA 1288 Standard for Camera Characterization in Effect

The EMVA  announced that the new release 4.0 of the EMVA 1288 Standard for objective characterization of industrial cameras, which is successfully used worldwide, has become effective. The release takes into account the rapid development of camera and image sensor technology. The EMVA 1288 standard, hosted by EMVA, is part of the global G3 standardization initiative in which the five leading machine vision organizations A3, CMVU, EMVA, JIIA, and VDMA cooperate.

HD Vision Systems becomes a partner of Bosch Rexroth platform

HD Vision Systems is now making functions and interfaces to standard area scan cameras available as a vision suite in the ecosystem of the ctrlX Automation automation platform from Bosch Rexroth. In addition, the two companies are developing customer-based machine vision applications and a use case for object recognition and oriented positioning using a Cartesian robot.

Release 4 of the EMVA Standard 1288 for Adequate Characterization of Modern Image Sensors and Cameras

The EMVA Standard 1288 for objective characterization of industrial cameras, which is successfully used worldwide, has a successor. The new Release 4.0 takes into account the rapid development of camera and image sensor technology. The release candidate was published on March 16, 2021 to come into effect three month later on June 16, 2021. A new module ‘Release 4.0 General’ has been added to characterize non-linear cameras or cameras with unknown pre-processing.
