Automation Technology expands distribution in the USA

Infrared camera and 3D sensor manufacturer Automation Technology has two new distribution partners for the U.S. market: From now on, Viper Imaging will act as a system integrator for AT infrared cameras and 3D sensor technology. Pembroke Instruments will focus on the distribution of AT products in the semiconductor and electronics sector. Further steps into the North American market are to follow.

Vision 2021: The hygiene concept of Vision 2021 is ready

A four-stage hygiene concept is designed to ensure the safety of exhibitors and visitors at Vision 2021. Thus, participants must either be recovered, vaccinated or tested. In addition, masks are compulsory. Spacing through wider aisles and an increased exchange of fresh air are also part of the concept. 250 exhibitors have registered so far.

CSA Group builds new European headquarters in Bavaria

CSA Group, a provider of testing, inspection and certification services, is expanding its presence in the EMEA region with a new European headquarters in Germany. The planned complex of around 12,500 square meters in Plattling (Bavaria) will house an administration building and two testing and inspection buildings.

Panasonic unites camera business in new company

Panasonic is restructuring its camera business: Accordingly, the European business units "Security Solutions" and "Industrial Medical Vision" (IMV) will be merged into the newly founded independent company i-PRO Emea B.V. (i-PRO Emea). Both business units are headquartered in Wiesbaden, Germany, and are currently still part of Panasonic System Communications Company Europe (PSCEU). The new company is scheduled to begin operations on Oct. 1, 2021, as part of Japan-based Panasonic i-PRO Sensing Solutions Co. (PIPS).

Landesmesse Stuttgart has officially confirmed it: Vision 2021 will take place as a presence trade fair. The gates of the international trade fair for machine vision will open on October 5, 2021.

Wenglor focuses on machine vision

The sensor and machine vision expert Wenglor Sensoric realigned its internal development centers and business units at the beginning of June. Thus, the areas of 2D machine vision, 2D/3D sensors, code scanners and software were combined in the Wenglor MEL business unit. In turn, the development and production of optoelectronic and inductive sensors takes place in the Sensor Technology business unit. In this way, the Group intends to strengthen its two business units Sensors and Machine Vision.

Review: EMVA Business Conference Special Edition 2021

With a participation of 135 participants from 23 nations the 19th EMVA Business Conference Special Edition 2021 took place online. A total of 20 speeches, two fireside chats and two CEO/Management panel discussions covered virtually all current actual economic and technical topics that the machine vision world currently deals with. During the individual B2B sessions about 90 virtual bilateral video meetings were arranged between conference attendees before and after the conference program in the afternoons.

New Release 4.0 of EMVA 1288 Standard for Camera Characterization in Effect

The EMVA  announced that the new release 4.0 of the EMVA 1288 Standard for objective characterization of industrial cameras, which is successfully used worldwide, has become effective. The release takes into account the rapid development of camera and image sensor technology. The EMVA 1288 standard, hosted by EMVA, is part of the global G3 standardization initiative in which the five leading machine vision organizations A3, CMVU, EMVA, JIIA, and VDMA cooperate.
