Kuka signs major contract with Ford Otosan

Kuka and Ford Otosan in Turkey have signed a new framework agreement to supply more than 700 robots for Ford's next-generation electric and connected commercial vehicle projects at Ford's Kocaeli plants. The contract continues the partnership between the two companies that has lasted for more than 20 years.

Kuka products and solutions will be used in the production of body shells over the next few years, as well as at various other locations. Among other things, the performance and services of Kuka and the many years of cooperation were decisive for the award of the contract.

Founded in 1959, Ford Otosan is Ford's largest commercial vehicle manufacturing center in Europe, with a production capacity of 455,000 commercial vehicles, 70,000 engines and 140,000 powertrains by the end of 2020. Ford Otosan has been Turkey's export champion for 6 consecutive years and automotive industry champion for 10 consecutive years.
