Forecast: Significant Growth in Industrial Robotics by 2030; Cobots Are Growing the Fastest
According to a recent analysis by Interact Analysis, global sales of industrial robots are expected to rise from about 550,000 units in 2025 to just over 760,000 units in 2030

This corresponds to an average annual growth rate of 6.7%. Following a decline in 2024, the market rebounded by 5.1% in 2025. Key drivers include improved investment sentiment, reshoring trends in the U.S., and strong demand from the semiconductor and electronics industries.
Material handling and assembly are considered the most important applications, with expected annual growth rates of 7.0% and 6.9%, respectively. Regionally, Asia-Pacific will see the strongest growth at 7.1% per year, followed by the Americas (6.2%) and EMEA (4.7%). In EMEA, a weak automotive sector and high interest rates are slowing automation investments.
The collaborative robot segment is growing the fastest, with a projected 17.4% per year, while traditional articulated-arm robots are growing at about 5%. SCARA robots, at 5.9%, are also growing faster than articulated-arm robots.
