EPIC and IVAM sign MoU

Synergy effects, especially for industry events, have been identified during a personal exchange at the W3+ Fair in Wetzlar.

Micro- and nanotechnologies are elementary for manufacturing, positioning, coating, finishing and quality assurance of optical components and for the further development of photonic processes. For this reason, the IVAM Microtechnology Network is continuously deepening its activities in the application field of optics and photonics.

EPIC – European Photonics Industry Consortium – and IVAM have established a strategic network partnership for this purpose. At the W3+ Fair in Wetzlar in July – after a two-year break – there was finally the opportunity to seal this by handshake. IVAM CEO Dr Thomas Dietrich and EPIC director general Carlos Lee exchanged views on the further strategic cooperation. Previously, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) had already been agreed.

The cooperation will pay off in particular in the area of jointly organized trade events. For example, EPIC has been organizing the session on ‘Photonics’ at the specialist forum ‘High-tech for Medical Devices’, which takes place parallel to the IVAM joint booth at Compamed/Medica, as a partner for several years.
