Siemens is consolidating its automation business into a new organizational unit. Effective October 1, 2026, the current divisions of Customer Services, Factory Automation, Motion Control, and Process Automation will be consolidated into the Automation unit. The goal is to centralize core automation expertise and further implement the “One Tech Company” strategy.

Rainer Brehm, previously COO of the automation business and CTO of Digital Industries, has been appointed President of the new unit. He reports directly to Cedrik Neike, a member of the Executive Board of Siemens AG and CEO of Digital Industries.

The new structure is intended to strengthen the integration of automation, software, and artificial intelligence and to support the transition to AI-enabled, increasingly autonomous production. Siemens is thus addressing industry demands for flexible, productive, and resilient production systems and preparing its portfolio for software-defined automation and industrial AI.
