Omron Plans to Acquire Industrial PC Manufacturer Onlogic
The acquisition is expected to be completed in early 2027. Onlogic will remain an independent company following the acquisition, and its headquarters, brand, direct sales operations, and management are expected to remain in place

Omron plans to acquire Onlogic, a U.S.-based industrial computer manufacturer. The two companies have entered into a binding agreement to that effect. The transaction is expected to close in January 2027 or shortly thereafter, subject to the necessary regulatory approvals.
With this acquisition, Omron is expanding its industrial automation business to include industrial edge computing systems. Onlogic develops configurable computing platforms for industrial applications and demanding environmental conditions. Omron brings technologies from sensor technology, control systems, drive technology, robotics, and safety, among others.
A key focus of the planned acquisition is the processing of machine data directly on the production floor. To this end, Omron intends to combine Onlogic’s edge computing technology with its own real-time automation and control systems. This is intended to address, in particular, data- and AI-based applications in manufacturing.
At the same time, the acquisition is intended to strengthen Omron’s position in North and South America as well as Europe. The companies do not disclose a purchase price or further financial details in this announcement.
Following the completion of the acquisition, Onlogic will continue to operate as an independent company within the Omron Group. Its headquarters in South Burlington, Vermont, the brand, and the direct sales model will remain in place. The current management team, led by CEO Sean Larkin, will also remain in office.
For Omron, the acquisition primarily represents an expansion of its automation portfolio to include edge computing. No specific details have yet been provided regarding which joint products or systems will result from this partnership.
