Edmund Optics Receives the “2026 Private Company Boards of the Year Award”
The awards recognize supervisory boards of private companies that demonstrate exemplary corporate governance, strategic foresight, and sustainable value creation

Edmund Optics, a global manufacturer of optics, imaging, and photonics technologies, has been honored with the “2026 Private Company Boards of the Year Award” from MLR Media. The award recognizes boards of directors at private companies that demonstrate exemplary corporate governance, strategic foresight, and sustainable value creation.
The third-generation, privately held family business has relied on an active Board of Advisors for many years. This body brings diverse perspectives to the table, fosters innovation and resilience, and supports management in steering the company’s long-term direction. Chairman of the Board and CEO Marisa Edmund emphasizes that the board acts as a strategic partner that constructively challenges conventional thinking and consistently focuses on long-term value—beyond short-term quarterly results.

The award specifically recognizes Edmund Optics’ commitment to responsible corporate governance, sustainable growth, and the close integration of its global presence with its regional roots. Collaboration—from the board and leadership team to the entire optics and photonics ecosystem—is a core corporate value.
The award was presented in June 2026 at the Private Company Governance Summit® in Washington, D.C. Edmund Optics employs over 1,300 people at 19 locations worldwide and, through its Marketplace featuring over 34,000 in-stock products and its Advanced Manufacturing Service, serves customers in the life sciences, biomedicine, industrial inspection, semiconductor technology, and research & development sectors.
