Edmund Optics promotes biophotonics talent
The company was the exclusive industry partner of the 12th International Graduate Summer School on Biophotonics, which took place from June 7 to 14, 2025, on the Swedish island of Ven.
This event, led by Professor Peter E. Andersen and Professor Stefan Andersson-Engels and sponsored by SPIE, offers university graduates worldwide the opportunity to receive hands-on training in biomedical optics and biophotonics. Paul Bilton of Edmund Optics emphasized the importance of supporting this program, which trains future photonics leaders.
Edmund Optics awarded the 2025 Biophotonics Scholarship to Maria Júlia de Arruda Mazzotti Marques and Najia Sharmin for their innovative research projects in photodynamic inactivation and photoacoustic microscopy. These projects demonstrate the potential of biophotonics for healthcare. Edmund Optics actively promotes networking and exchange with Summer School participants to support future innovation.
