Baumer opens production site in northern Macedonia

Swiss camera manufacturer Baumer has set up a new factory in a free-trade zone near Skopje, northern Macedonia. The sensor production began after an 18-month construction period in May 2019. Now it was officially opened. The new plant manufactures optical sensors for the whole of Europe.

On the plot area of ​​19,000 m2, a building with a total capacity of 4,000 m2 was built in the first construction phase. Of these, 2,500 m2 are production area and 600 m2 development and administration area. In addition, there is still room for future extensions on the property.

Due to its proximity to the university city of Skopje, Baumer expects a sufficient supply of skilled workers. Other benefits include good transport links and proximity to the international airport.
