Portwell acquires majority stake in Wincomm
The aim is to strengthen edge AI solutions

Portwell has announced a strategic investment in Wincomm Corporation. With the acquisition of a 41% stake, Portwell becomes the largest shareholder of the company. Wincomm, based in Hsinchu, Taiwan, is known for its touchscreen computers and has a strong position in the medical technology, smart healthcare and industrial automation sectors. Its portfolio includes medically certified panel PCs and rugged industrial solutions. According to Ken Guan, President of Portwell, the cooperation strengthens the presence in medical computing and expands competencies in factory automation.
HY Chiou, CEO of Wincomm, emphasizes that the investment supports the vision of becoming a leading provider of edge AI solutions. Customers will benefit from an expanded product portfolio and the integration of edge AI technologies into medical and industrial platforms, enabling smarter and more adaptable solutions.
