Ams Osram Sells Non-Optical Analog/Mixed-Signal Sensors to Infineon
The company has completed the sale of its non-optical analog/mixed-signal sensor business to Infineon. The purchase price is 570 million euros in cash.

With this transaction, the company is divesting a non-core segment while simultaneously strengthening its balance sheet.
The move is part of the strategic realignment that Ams Osram announced in February. The company is positioning itself as a focused semiconductor photonics provider with an emphasis on digital photonics. By this, the company means the digitization of light emission and detection through the combination of pixel-based emitters, sensors, and associated control ICs. This integration is intended to enable differentiated products and tap into medium-term growth areas.
The divestiture supports the planned accelerated debt reduction and concentrates resources on the core growth areas in digital photonics. Infineon is acquiring the sensor portfolio and the associated employees and integrating them into its own semiconductor business.
