Portable Metrology for Quality Control
Creaform’s new Handyscan 3D|EVO Series offers portable, metrology‑grade 3D scanning for precise, efficient inspection. It helps QC/QA teams measure complex parts without CMM bottlenecks.
Pierre-Luc Delagrave, Product Manager at Creaform

Based on the ISO 10360 certification and manufactured in an ISO 17025–accredited lab, the EVO Series achieves 0.020 mm accuracy and volumetric accuracy of 0.020 mm + 0.020 mm/m, using 46 blue laser lines. This enables precise inspection of thin-walled sheet metal, castings with complex geometries, large assemblies, and more.
Embedded Touchscreen & GUI: The 4.3-inch integrated display provides real-time visualization and parameter access. Operators can monitor scan progress, adjust settings, and validate data completeness without returning to a workstation. In practice, this reduces operator fatigue and error during long inspection sessions, such as when scanning multiple heavy equipment components on the shop floor.
Augmented Reality & Auto-Alignment: The AR feature overlays scan data and colormaps directly on the part, allowing immediate identification of deviations from CAD models. The auto-alignment function aligns the scan with the CAD reference as data is acquired. For repetitive inspections, such as verifying hundreds of stamped sheet metal parts, this eliminates manual alignment steps, saving significant time and ensuring consistent results across batches.
