Matrox introduces new 4Sight industrial computer

Matrox Imaging is announcing Matrox 4Sight GP, the 5th generation of its 4Sight family of industrial computers for machine vision and medical imaging applications. Powered by an embedded 3rd generation Intel Core processor, the Matrox 4Sight GP offers desktop-level performance - including real-time high-definition H.264 encoding offload - in a small ruggedized enclosure. The platform accommodates full-height, half-length PCIe boards, which lets developers insert standard add-in cards - like Matrox frame grabbers - for analog, Camera Link, CoaXPress, DVI, or SDI video capture. Matrox 4Sight GP integrates Gigabit Ethernet and USB 3.0 interfaces, which provide native support for capturing from GigE Vision cameras and upcoming USB3 Vision cameras.

Matrox 4Sight GP comes pre-loaded with Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 7, which provides the same power, familiarity, and reliability as Windows® 7. Applications are created using standard Microsoft development tools and the Matrox Imaging Library (MIL), a comprehensive collection of tools for developing machine vision and medical imaging applications. MIL features programming functions for image capture, processing, analysis, annotation, display, and archiving. Matrox 4Sight GP will be available at the end of Q2 2012.
