Factry Historian is an industrial data platform built for process manufacturers who want to collect, contextualize and analyze data from their production environment. It connects to OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus and other industrial protocols to capture data from PLCs, SCADA systems and sensors, storing it and making the data available for industrial use cases like batch reporting, energy monitoring, and line monitoring.
Factry Historian v8.1, launched recently, features an MCP server that lets anyone from the shop floor to the top floor chat with production data in plain language. Instead of writing queries or building dashboards, an operator, engineer or manager can simply ask what happened on a line, when a batch deviated from setpoint, or how a machine performed last week, and get an answer grounded in real production data.
