Factry: Turning raw production data into context that matters

Photo

Factry Historian is an industrial data platform for process manufacturers who want to collect production data, put it into context, and analyze it. It connects to OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, and other industrial protocols to capture data from PLCs, SCADA systems, and sensors, and puts it to work in batch reporting, energy monitoring, and line monitoring.

Context is what makes that data usable. A modern production line generates sensor readings every 100 milliseconds, far more than ERP or BI tools can digest. Factry sits in between: it enriches raw signals with context (which batch, which recipe, which conditions, which operator) so the data becomes meaningful for analysis. The impact can be immediate. At Belgian ice cream producer Jacques Ice, simply making fill weights visible in real time exposed a structural overfilling problem and led to double-digit savings on raw materials.

That same contextualization is what makes AI in manufacturing possible. The recently introduced Factry Historian v8.1 includes an MCP server that lets anyone, from shop floor to management, query production data in plain language. Instead of writing queries or building dashboards, an operator, engineer, or manager can ask what happened on a line, when a batch deviated from its setpoint, or how a machine ran last week, and get an answer grounded in actual production data.
