Laser triangulation sensors for oil measurement

Laser triangulation sensors from Micro-Epsilon are used for precise level measurement in the production of oil temperature sensors. The OptoNCDT offer a combination of a large measuring range with a large measuring distance at the same time. Furthermore, they are easy to assemble and commission. After the oil has been filled in by a dispenser machine, a laser sensor from the optoNCDT 1420 series measures the fill level. If this is less than 4 mm or if the sensor was not filled at all due to production errors, it is evaluated as NOK and sorted out. Since the oil temperature sensors have an inner diameter of 4 mm and a depth to be tested of 28 mm, a measuring range of 200 mm is used. This ensures that the laser can reliably measure into the filling tube.
