Waygate Technologies and Varex Imaging have entered into an exclusive distribution partnership for industrial X-ray inspection. Effective immediately, Waygate will assume distribution of the X-ray detectors developed by Varex for field radiography, thereby expanding its portfolio of non-destructive testing solutions.

In addition to hardware, the agreement also covers software. Furthermore, Waygate will provide worldwide after-sales service and training for the relevant products. Existing customers of Varex’s field radiography business will be gradually transitioned to Waygate’s sales and service channels. The collaboration focuses on the digitization of X-ray inspection outside of stationary testing facilities. In particular, the companies aim to drive the transition from X-ray film to digital detectors. Within the partnership, Varex will focus more heavily on the further development of its detector platforms.

As their first joint offering, the companies are launching Weldpack Pro. The solution is designed for weld inspection on pipes of various diameters and combines, as an option, two sizes of a new flexible detector with a new compact flat detector.
