Union Park Capital has bought iiM

The company will become a subsidiary of Exaktera. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed

Exaktera, a subsidiary of Union Park, has acquired iiM. iiM will be the fourth company in Exaktera's portfolio, joining Z-Laser, ProPhotonix and Advanced Illumination. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

iiM is headquartered in Suhl, Germany, and is known for its advanced machine vision capabilities. With this acquisition, Exaktera continues its strategic expansion in Europe, adding complementary LED technologies and application expertise to its portfolio. The acquisition aims to serve various industries such as automotive, medical, semiconductor, electronics, food and logistics.

Cindy Ye, CEO of Exaktera, emphasizes that this acquisition is a significant step in making Exaktera the world's leading manufacturer of specialty lighting components and solutions for machine vision applications. Thomas Buschmann, President Europe of Exaktera, adds that iiM’s technical expertise and complementary product offerings will enhance Exaktera’s ability to deliver best-in-class LED solutions and expand its engineering capabilities in optical measurement.

Under the new ownership, iiM will continue to be led by Heiko Freund, Peter Anacker and Axel Müller. The managing directors of iiM look forward to working with the other brands under Exaktera to better serve existing and new customers.
