Wiley Tech Talk: Enabling Quantum Precision

In this webinar you learn how cryogenic 6-axis hexapods enable precise positioning in quantum and photonics experiments involving multiple degrees of freedom. Possible use cases are beam alignment, fiber coupling, and optical adjustment in confined, extremely cold environments.

On April 2028 this webinar will shed light on why cryogenic 6-axis hexapods are becoming increasingly important for modern quantum research and photonic applications. Many experiments require positioning systems with five to six degrees of freedom that can be flexibly adapted to different optical tasks. These include the reduction of lens aberrations, precise beam alignment via mirrors, polarization control, optimized fibre coupling and the positioning of complex dispersive optics such as gratings and prisms.

The systems operate in cryostats and dilution coolers, in which extremely low temperatures and tight installation spaces influence the design and control of the hexapods. Compact, low-vibration and thermally stable solutions are required that deliver reproducible positioning accuracy even under cryogenic conditions.

The lecture is aimed at developers and researchers who realize or further develop optical setups in quantum and photonics laboratories.
