Artificial intelligence took center stage
The "AI in production planning" innovation round at the Siegen Summit on October 29, 2025 focused on the question of how artificial intelligence (AI) can make production processes more efficient and flexible. Organized by Do IT Südwestfalen and ifm, the event attracted experts from production, IT, planning and quality assurance. In a compact format, the event offered practical keynote speeches and open discussions.
Topics such as the integration of AI into existing ERP systems, master data management and generational change were discussed in depth. The production planning tool Fox (Factory Optimization Excellence) met with lively interest. Participants exchanged views on adapting planning processes for predictive analytics and machine learning. The event showed that AI is already a decisive factor in production planning today. New contacts were made and collaborations initiated at the after-roundtable, paving the way for future projects.
