Success of premium efficiency engines
SEW-Eurodrive delivered its three millionth DRN.. motor in Germany in spring 2025, with over 14 million worldwide.

These IE3 motors have reduced users' energy costs by more than €2.3 billion. The three millionth motor was delivered to Masa GmbH, which specializes in machinery for the building materials industry. Masa uses the bevel gear motors for the manufacture of concrete products. SEW-Eurodrive has been successfully selling the energy-saving motors of the DRN.. series in the Premium Efficiency Class (IE3) to equipment manufacturers and end users since 2015.
The motors have led to significant energy savings worldwide. With an average load of 75% and an average operating time of 5,000 hours per year, operators have achieved considerable cost savings compared to older IE1 motors.
