Scanlab celebrates its 30th anniversary. For the provider of high-quality laser technology components, who is at home in the greater Munich area, his 'one-location strategy' has proven itself.

Founded in 1990, the company was sublet in an office in Planegg on just under 100 square meters for the first five years and had fewer than ten employees. At the laser fair in Munich in 1995, the self-developed scan head, including electronic control, was presented to a wider audience for the first time. The system aroused great interest, several orders were placed and the success story started. The company hired its 30th employee back in 1999.

In the meantime, Scanlab has developed into a system provider that has a large number of different galvanometer-based scan solutions in its program. The appropriate control electronics and various software products round off the range of products. The company continued to concentrate its development, production, customer service and large parts of the sales team at one location in Puchheim near Munich. All competencies are bundled under one roof, the advantages of this are short distances and quick reaction times. The extremely positive economic development in recent years proves this strategy right. Today Scanlab employs around 380 people from 38 nations and supplies customers in numerous countries in Europe, Asia and North America.
