Sick with slight sales decline in 2020

Sales at sensor manufacturer Sick did fall by 2.9 percent to 1.7 billion euros in 2020. However, the Black Forest company is pleased that the decline was not more severe in view of the Corona pandemic and the significantly greater slump in mechanical engineering production overall.

Change of Managing Director at Carl Zeiss Jena

On August 1, 2021, Dr. Stefan Häberle will become Chairman of the Management Board of Carl Zeiss Jena GmbH. He succeeds Hellmuth Aeugle, who is retiring. Häberle will thus lead the subsidiary of Carl Zeiss AG together with Dr. Bernhardt Ohnesorge.

Largest industry show also a digital heavyweight

If you believe the pure numbers, the Hannover Messe Digital Edition from April 12 to 16, 2021 was a complete success: 90,000 registrations, 10,500 products from 1,800 exhibitors. In addition, the conference program featured 1,500 speakers who spoke about digitization, supply chain management, lightweight construction or hydrogen and electromobility. However, technical discussions that did not take place are less easy to count. Of course, the organizer also knows that these were missing out.
