Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Klaus Drese, the study shows that technological progress in Asia is increasingly overtaking Europe. Among the most important findings are the increasing accuracy of measurement, the growing need for information and the development of sensor systems. In addition, the focus is on miniaturization, cost reduction, sustainability and energy efficiency.

Artificial intelligence and quantum sensors are also on the rise. Germany can strengthen its innovative capacity through targeted investments and funding, particularly in the areas of material properties and radio navigation. The English-language study is also available and is aimed at industry representatives, researchers and political decision-makers.

The study is available here.
