Ifm restructures technical management: Dr. Volker Frey becomes CTO
The long-standing CTO Benno Kathan has retired after around 35 years with the company
His areas of responsibility were redistributed as part of the succession. The new CTO is Dr. Volker Frey, previously Managing Director of the Ifm Position Group business unit and member of the central Group Management Board. As Managing Director, he assumes overall technical responsibility for sensor technology at Ifm. In addition to the Ifm Position Group, he will also be responsible for the Ifm Process Group in future.
At the same time, Co-CEO Martin Buck is expanding his area of responsibility: in addition to managing the Ifm Network & Control Group business unit, he is taking over the technical management of Ifm Solutions. With this reorganization, Ifm is bundling the technical management of the business units and aligning responsibilities more closely with the focus on sensors and systems.
