The aim is to further develop data-supported technologies for ocean racing. Ifm is equipping the new Imoca racing yacht with sensor technology that supplies real-time data to central on-board systems and is being tested under extreme conditions.

Among other things, pressure sensors are used to precisely monitor the amount of water in the ballast tanks in order to specifically influence the balance and performance of the boat. In addition, robust radar sensors are integrated on the foil platform to record the boat's altitude and position above the water and thus support the analysis of sailing behavior. The data is pre-processed on board and transmitted via the moneo cloud so that both the crew and the shore team can access real-time data and analyses. The partnership will accompany several regatta programs up to the Vendée Globe 2028.
