His bachelor's thesis, which won the Student Award, was presented at the first IDS Computer Vision Day in Obersulm. PipeView uses an IDS NXT rio camera with an integrated AI processor, trained by the IDS lighthouse platform, to automatically detect contaminants such as oil films. This reduces manual visual inspections and detects critical conditions more quickly.

"Our aim is to monitor wastewater flows intelligently," explains Gaißer. Sigrid Rögner from IDS emphasizes the importance of practical research projects for the AI ecosystem. IDS supports Gaißer in the further development of his master's degree, as PipeView uses AI vision for sustainable applications. The IDS NXT Experience Kit facilitates the implementation of projects such as PipeView.
