HMS builds European distribution center at Karlsruhe
HMS Networks is significantly expanding its Karlsruhe location. For this reason, the provider of industrial information and communication technology (ICT) is having a new European distribution center built, vis-à-vis the Karlsruhe Technology Park.

With a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony on January 28, 2022, construction work officially began on the European distribution center, which is located directly opposite the previous site at the Karlsruhe Technology Park. Here, a five-story energy-efficient building is being built to KfW 55 standard, with 2,500 square meters of usable space and room for over 100 workstations. The project is being realized together with Peter Gross Bau. From the European sales center, 26 European countries are served in the main areas of sales, marketing as well as technical service and support.
The topic of sustainability plays a major role in the HMS strategy. The aim is to emit as little CO₂ as possible at the company's own sites. For example, the new office building will draw green electricity and be equipped with a photovoltaic system on the partially green roof. There are also charging stations for e-cars and e-bikes.
Teamwork has always been a top priority at HMS. In addition to a spacious cafeteria, there will also be plenty of space for personal exchange and communication with each other. On each floor, there will be communication islands in addition to the traditional meeting rooms. Even though the topic of hybrid working is becoming more and more important, HMS sees it as very important to have a working environment in which personal collaboration continues to be an important component.
