The 74-page guide presents the topic of heat flow thermography from the perspective of applied science and industrial research. The readers shall get a realistic idea regarding the possibilities and the technologies available today and get to know application methods and fields of application relevant for industrial practice.

The guide to heat flow thermography is published as an updated new edition. It contains an overview of heat flux thermography, presenting typical procedures and methods as well as algorithms and camera technology. This is followed by a description of the practical range of applications, in particular for quality assurance in manufacturing, based on realized applications, also taking into account current activities in the field of standardization and norming.

The publication is available for a nominal fee of 39 euros from the Fraunhofer Vision office, the Fraunhofer Vision webshop or bookstores.

The Fraunhofer Vision guide series

Knowledge and understanding of application possibilities, performance and limitations of modern measuring and inspection technology with machine vision are an important prerequisite for the successful use of these systems and technologies in industrial manufacturing and quality assurance. The guideline series of the Fraunhofer Vision Business Unit aims to contribute to this.

Each year, a volume is published on a relevant topic in the field of machine vision or non-destructive measuring and testing technology, in which the respective state of the art is presented in a generally understandable and clear manner. The aim is to make it easier for potential users to gain an initial insight into the subject.
