Dell Technologies has unveiled Concept Astro, a concept design for optimizing data centers using artificial intelligence, digital twins, and automation. This system predicts the energy requirements of individual workloads in real time, taking into account business requirements and electricity costs to determine the optimal execution time. Given the predicted increase in data center energy consumption by 2030, Concept Astro offers a solution to minimize the environmental footprint while reducing costs.

The technology uses Agentic AI for autonomous decision-making and digital twins to simulate workloads. A pilot project with the Scripps Institution of Oceanography showed that intelligent planning reduced operating costs by 20% and CO2 emissions by 32%. Concept Astro is based on the Dell AIOps Monitoring Suite and provides comprehensive insights into data center infrastructure.
