Edge-AI on Ambarella's N1-655: Macnica shows industrial partner solutions
At Embedded World 2026, Macnica presented edge AI solutions based on the Ambarella N1 platform together with its partners ienso and Hellbender.

The focus was on agent-based AI applications at the edge that run multi-billion-parameter models on the N1-655 SoC with a high performance-per-watt ratio. Both ISVs had ported their AI workloads to the N1 platform within a few weeks via the cvflow architecture and the Developer Zone.
ienso showed an industrial Agentic AI system running entirely on the N1-655. A hybrid architecture combines cv28m and cv75 vision platforms with centralized N1 compute for distributed inference and orchestration. The solution addresses real-time inspection, fleet management and ML lifecycle via the Acusight platform, including on-premises operation with data sovereignty and local LLM agent for natural language interaction.
Hellbender demonstrated spatial intelligence and embedded GenAI on the N1-655 with three levels: Perception (object recognition, optical flow, depth estimation), Spatial AI (odometry, tracking, digital twin) and visual language models for contextual scene interpretation, such as for road surveillance and AMR navigation in the factory.
