Ams Osram sells sensor business to Infineon
The sale includes companies with assets of around EUR 130 million, which will be used to repay convertible bonds and senior notes

Ams Osram is selling its non-optical analog/mixed-signal sensor business for automotive, industrial and medical applications to Infineon for €570 million in cash. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026. The sale includes companies with assets of around 130 million euros, which will be used to repay convertible bonds and senior notes. In total, Ams Osram's deleveraging plan brings in 670 million euros and reduces the pro forma leverage ratio from 3.3 to 2.5.
The strategic realignment strengthens the company as a provider in the field of digital photonics, with a focus on intelligent optical semiconductors for light emission and sensor technology. The company offers a broad portfolio of optical semiconductor technologies and plans to benefit from growth opportunities in areas such as the automotive industry, augmented reality and AI data centers. The new financial targets for 2030 include sales growth in the mid to high single-digit range and a free cash flow of over EUR 200 million.
