8th European Machine Vision Forum: Highlights and insights
Under the motto "Imaging the Invisible", the participants discussed how image information can be made usable across different wavelength ranges and modalities, such as machine learning.

The 8th European Machine Vision Forum, which took place in Fürth on October 16 and 17, focused on the sensory fundamentals of machine vision. Under the motto "Imaging the Invisible", the participants discussed how image information can be utilized across different wavelength ranges and modalities, such as machine learning.
Michael Salamon from Fraunhofer IIS presented X-ray technologies for defect-free production, while Jeroen Kalkman from the University of Delft presented optical coherence tomography for examining surfaces and layers. Boris Landgraf from Cosine highlighted the challenges of satellite-based multispectral sensor technology. A highlight was the guided tour of the X-ray Technology Development Center, which showed a wide range of possible applications for X-ray imaging. The participants praised the forum for its technical depth and networking opportunities.
