USB3 Vision camera with e2v sensors available

The USB3 Vision camera mvBlueFOX3 series is now with CMOS sensor models from e2v available. The first model is a 1/1.8" gray scale and color camera with 1.3 Mpixels (1280 x 1024 pixels). The pipelined global-reset shutter sensor manages a maximum frame rate of 60 Hz at full resolution. Pipelined means that the camera can start the exposure of the next frame during the readout of the current frame. This enables higher frame rates.

The 1.3 MPixels camera can also be ordered with an extended near-infrared (NIR) sensitivity. The gray scale model achieves this improved sensitivity by using deeper areas in the photo diode. This increases the quantum efficiency. The NIR camera is suitable for applications with low-light conditions. The third model is a 1/1.8" gray scale and color camera with 2 Mpixels (1600 x 1200 pixels). The pipelined global-reset shutter sensor also manages a maximum frame rate of 50 Hz at full resolution.

CMOS sensors from e2v are best known for a formidable image quality comparable to CCD sensors. Both, image quality and impressive sensitivity, make the cameras suitable for a multitude of applications. The mvBlueFOX3 is suited for industrial applications and in spite of its size of 39 x 39 x 24 mm (B x H x D), its features make it a real giant: along with the integrated 256 Mbytes image memory, the mvBlueFOX3 has a huge FPGA with many smart features for image processing as well as 2/4 digital inputs and outputs. The camera family is compliant with the standards GenICam and USB3 Vision. Drivers are available for Linux and Windows. Furthermore, the camera is supported by image processing libraries which are compliant with USB3 Vision.
