New Mantis Stereo Microscope with Inbuilt Camera

A stereo microscope from Vision Engineering is now available with a built-in, high resolution camera. The integration of a high performance camera will provide users with the advantage of effortlessly capturing images for reporting, cataloguing and communicating with colleagues and customers. The Mantis is a stereo microscope with patented technology allowing operators to inspect components in comfort. With an "eyepieceless" viewer, the Mantis Elite provides fatigue free viewing, optimising accuracy and productivity.

Mantis provides up to x20 magnification with an interchangeable turret, providing operators with the versatility to switch between two objective lenses. Ideal for use when alternating between inspection and rework, operators can instantaneously switch between low and higher magnification, without putting the sample down.

Now with a high resolution camera built into the viewing head, the Mantis is even more versatile. Ryan Springell, Design Engineer for Vision Engineering explains why he thinks the Elite-Cam will prove to be a big success, with both existing and new customers: "Over 150,000 Mantis stereo microscopes have been sold worldwide, mainly because of its ergonomic advantages and superior optics. However changing times means we need to provide our customers with optical solutions that meet with their complete requirements. With most of the Mantis systems sold into quality and production, it is essential they are able to quickly and easily communicate their findings to their colleagues. The Elite-Cam delivers all of the original advantages for inspection with the benefits of simultaneous optical and digital viewing with digital image capture capabilities".

Factory sealed the Elite-Cam requires little configuration enabling user to virtually plug and play. Image capture options include BMP, JPEG and PNG. Connectivity is through USB 2.0 with easy to use PC based software.
