Lenses for applications within the UV-range

Fujinon’s recent lenses were specifically engineered for applications within the UV-range and complement the comprehensive range of lenses for Machine Vision applications.

The choice of Fujinon’s UV-lenses includes two models:
Firstly, the “UV12.5” with a focal length of f=12.5, designed for 1/2” sensors which allows a minimum object distance (M.O.D.) of 0,05m.
Secondly, the “UV25”, designed for 1” cameras which has a focal length of f=25mm.

Further specifications:

  • High resolution lenses, for applications with megapixel cameras
  • Excellent UV transmission
  • C-Mount
  • Iris range F2.5 ~ F22
  • Manual iris and focus operation
  • Temperature: -10° ~ +50°C
  • Designed for high resolution cameras like: Sony XCD-SX910UV or Sony XC-EU50

The manufacture of UV-lenses involves particular challenges, because the glass materials of normal lenses do not let UV-light pass. For this reason quarz is used which makes it possible to use wave length of up to 250nm.

The application area for UV-lenses increases continuously. In addition to "classic" applications such as forensic (medical as well as criminological) such kind of high quality lenses are increasingly used for Machine Vision, for example for surface inspection. Just as well, the micro chip production without UV-light is hardly imaginable.
