Flexible quality inspection of corrugated pipes

Corrugated pipe extrusion not only alternates between corrugated and smooth structures. Sections of pipe may have features that need to be inspected differently. Or the corrugator imprints features on the extrudate that have to be ignored by quality control. Here, ProfilControl 7 S CorrugatedTube now offers special algorithms that further automate the quality check.

Corrugator mold chains can engrave imprints such as characters, numbers, letters as desired markings on the product. To ensure that these engravings do not trigger error detection, they must be accepted by the inspection system as intended engraving. Here, too, the ProfilControl 7 S CorrugatedTube software upgrade now offers an algorithm that automatically recognizes these imprints and, if requested by the customer, tolerates them. This also makes handling much easier for the operator.
