Capture Board with Dual Video Decoder

Matrox Imaging announced the Matrox Morphis for PC/104-Plus, a capture board with a dual video decoder architecture and a realtime JPEG2000 compression/ decompression engine. It is a video acquisition option for the company’s 4Sight M, a highly integrated platform that is used to develop digital video recorders (DVRs) or network/webenabled video servers for remote surveillance. It is “one of the first capture boards to offer JPEG2000 hardware acceleration for the PC/104-Plus form factor”, says Fabio Perelli, Product Manager for Frame Grabbers and Stand-alone Systems. Featuring a dual decoder design, the system supports ultra-fast channel switching between multiple video inputs, making it ideal for video surveillance applications. Additionally, the on-board JPEG2000 hardware accelerator facilitates real-time image archiving and transmission for surveillance applications.
