Cameras with integrated cooling channel for high-precision images

Via this, the CX.XC models can be cooled with compressed air in the range of 2 to 3 bar or with liquids up to 6 bar. This makes them suitable for inspections with higher ambient conditions, such as near furnaces in glass production. Due to the effective heat dissipation close to the sensor and lens, the CX.XC cameras provide images with very low noise and few defect pixels while maintaining high dynamic range. This means that high-precision measurement tasks such as the inspection of silicon wafers in the µm range can be implemented without thermal influence on the lens or the image properties. The new cameras completely eliminate the need for additional cooling components - saving time and costs during system integration. Series production of the CX series with integrated cooling channel will start with 5-megapixel models with Sony Pregius sensor in Q4 2021.

With more than 130 models, the Baumer CX camera series comprises a broad sensor portfolio for cross-industry standard applications of industrial image processing. The standard 29×29 mm variants offer a wide range of functions as well as Sony Pregius, Pregius S, Starvis and Polarsens and ON Semiconductor Python CMOS sensors to realize future-oriented applications. Models with standard-compliant GigE Vision or USB3 Vision interface, with Precision Time Protocol (PTP) for precise time synchronization in Ethernet networks, with polarization sensor for complete detection of the linear polarization state of surfaces as well as with global, rolling or global reset shutter enable a wide range of application solutions. The CX cameras convince with very good image quality and high frame rates - when using an ROI (Region of Interest) even with well over 1000 frames/s. Easy camera integration in changing lighting conditions is ensured thanks to Auto Features for Exposure, Gain, White Balance and Color Transformation.
