3D Scanning at the Push of a Button

Breuckmann will for the first time present their extended smartScan 3D product series. Thanks to Interface FireWire(B), this modular system for the precise three-dimensional data acquisition of objects now delivers even quicker and more reliable performance.

Flexibility is an additional key feature: the smartScan 3D product series grows with client projects: thanks to its consistent hardware platform, the system modules are easily extendable and adjustable in line with increasing project requirements - or additionally available budget. In order to deliver accuracy and high standard data quality, for example in connection with industrial measurements, the system is equipped with low-noise CCD cameras (a broad range from 1.4 to 16 MPixel) and quality lenses. In the context of digitisation tasks, e.g. in the field of bodymetry and cultural monuments, the simultaneous acquisition of the colour and 3D characteristics ensures highest standard of precision and imaging quality.

In the area of reverse engineering, the new smartScan 3D supports process optimisation and reduces serial production start-up times. As an integral part in tool and mould making projects, the system is involved from the very first blueprint phase via the prototype production all the way to readiness for start of production. This procedure facilitates a reduction in development times, savings on labour costs and ensures a consistently high standard of productivity.

In the area of arts and culture, smartScan 3D digitizes gargoyles, for example. It can be manufactured on the basis of the generated scan data - as a miniature sculpture but also as a 250 kg heavy end product made of concrete.
