ZVEI calls for simplification of the CRA
Sarah Bäumchen, Managing Director of ZVEI, welcomes the revision of the Cyber Security Act (CSA) as an important step towards strengthening European cyber security and digital sovereignty

She emphasizes that strengthening the ENISA mandate is crucial for a cyber-resilient business location in Europe.
At the same time, Bäumchen calls for a significant simplification of the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). She warns that overly complex regulation could lead to problems and emphasizes the need for coherent cybersecurity regulations. Bäumchen criticizes the fact that expected simplification measures, such as in the digital omnibus, have so far failed to materialize. Substantial simplifications are needed, particularly in the CRA, in order to avoid supply chain disruptions and a weakening of the European production environment. The ZVEI has already formulated corresponding adjustment proposals.
