Zimmer Group opens factory in Jintan

The new plant comprises a modern infrastructure of 26,640 m², with the building area of the first construction phase amounting to 9,911 m². Jintan, known as the “blessed land south of the Yangtze River”, is the newest, most dynamic and promising new urban area in Changzhou. In recent years, Jintan has always adhered to the concept of “industrial and project powerhouse”, consistently developed the real economy, and continuously strengthened and expanded the “five new industries” represented by “new energy, new infrastructure, new energy vehicles, new medicine and new intelligence”.

Achim Gauss, Managing Director of Zimmer Group, emphasized the importance of the new production facility in his opening speech: “The Jintan location not only offers us economic advantages, but also the opportunity to network with other German companies and local educational institutions. With this strategic decision, we are strengthening our ability to respond quickly to customer requests and deliver high-quality products from local production.”

The Zimmer Group has been active in China since 2009 and has continuously expanded in recent years as part of a rolling 5-year strategy. The new location in Jintan strengthens Zimmer Group's presence in China and forms the basis for further growth and innovation. In addition, the region offers a broad university landscape in the field of mechanical engineering as well as a German-speaking school that supports the sustainable personnel growth of Zimmer Group in China.

Zimmer Group is thus continuing the continuous expansion of its portfolio and the development of new capacities as the core of its international expansion strategy. The new facility will offer customized solutions and automation technology that meet Zimmer Group's high standards. The opening is an important step in meeting local market needs with native language service and locally produced products.
