Vision Markets celebrates its tenth birthday
Vision Markets, a consultancy specializing in the machine vision industry, is ten years old.

Vision Markets was founded in 2015 by Dr. Ronald Müller with the aim of supporting companies in the introduction of machine vision and computer vision. Since then, the industry has seen landslide changes: the end of Sony's CCD production, the improved standardization of camera interfaces and the commoditization of standard cameras have changed the market landscape. New sensor technologies, the rise of deep learning and the emergence of multi- and hyperspectral imaging have opened up new technical possibilities.
At the same time, economic challenges – from the European automotive industry crisis and global lockdowns to semiconductor shortages, changing trade policies and the decoupling of Western and Chinese markets – have tested even the most resilient companies. The double-digit growth rates that the machine vision industry was accustomed to just a few years ago became a distant memory.
A management consultancy became a full-service support agency
During this time, Vision Markets accompanied over 130 companies through successes and crises. It has supported its clients through market consolidation and a wave of mergers and acquisitions, helping them to expand globally, enter new markets and diversify their offering.
What began as a focus on strategic consulting and brand building soon expanded to include marketing consulting, annual and customized market reports, and recruitment services as industry demand evolved.
Today, Vision Markets is supported by a growing core team of six senior consultants as well as a network of subject matter experts from all areas of imaging technologies and marketing activities. The team members serve on the boards of the European Machine Vision Association, A3 and Indian Machine Vision Association. They also contribute to the future of machine vision through their involvement in innovation award juries, such as the prestigious inspect award.
"With ten years in business and more than 100 years of combined experience of our team in the machine vision industry, we look forward to continuing to drive the success of machine vision and vision companies around the world in the years to come," says Müller.
