The machine, supplied by Whitehouse Machine Tools, was installed to turn a range of aluminum components for the high quality lenses of the third generation Mantis eyepieceless stereo microscopes, providing additional turning capacity for large production volumes.

Workshop manager Scott Blackwell says: “The installation of the Biglia lathe went well. The lathe is a real workhorse; The turned parts produced are flawless and the unmanned operation has proven to be very consistent.”
