Vega, a manufacturer of measurement technology, is acquiring the Swiss company Akenza AG, headquartered in Zurich. Akenza develops IoT platforms for businesses and supports projects in the areas of smart industry and smart buildings. With this transaction, Vega is expanding its activities in the industrial IoT sector.
Through the acquisition, Vega gains access to an open IoT platform that connects various devices and systems. In recent years, Akenza has specialized in particular in the processing and use of IoT data for industrial and building-related applications.
For Vega, the transaction primarily represents an expansion of its software and digital business. The sensor manufacturer will thus be able to integrate its hardware more closely with cloud-based IoT applications in the future.
