Teledyne partners with Center for Quantum Networks

Teledyne Princeton Instruments and Teledyne Photometrics became an industrial partner in the Innovation Ecosystem of the Center for Quantum Networks (CQN), a National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center.

The CQN is taking on one of the greatest engineering challenges of the 21st century: to lay the technical and social foundations of the quantum internet. This will require coordination of the quantum states of particles serving as computational bits between quantum computers, that is not present in the realms of classical physics.

Teledyne’s solutions have been used to clarify quantum optical systems and develop the novel materials needed to connect networks of quantum computers. Stephen Fleming, Innovation Ecosystem director at CQN notes, “Teledyne’s leadership in sensing and transmitting information in challenging environments makes it a perfect fit with the Center for Quantum Networks’ mission to lay the technical and social foundations of the quantum Internet.”

The overarching mission of the CQN Innovation Ecosystem is to spur new industries and a competitive marketplace of quantum service providers and application developers, laying the foundation for a socially responsible quantum internet. As part of the Innovation Ecosystem, Teledyne provides myriad products used in various aspects of quantum including sensing, computing, networking, as well as basic research.

Related products include scientific CMOS, EMCCD (electron-multiplying charge-coupled device), and InGaAs detectors, as well as a variety of high-resolution spectrographs and spectrometers needed for material science research.
