Net sales for Teledyne's Digital Imaging segment, which includes Teledyne Dalsa, e2v and ICM, were approximately 238 million US dollars in the second quarter of 2020, down 4.3 percent from the same quarter last year. Operating income was approximately 47 million US dollars in the second quarter of 2020, 9.3 percent less than in Q2 2019.

Net sales in the second quarter of 2020 primarily reflected lower sales of x-ray products for dental and medical applications and products for spatial imaging. The decrease was partially offset by higher sales of infrared detectors for defense applications and 3 million US dollars of additional revenue from the acquisition of Micralyne, a Canadian MEMS manufacturer in 2019. The decrease in operating income in the second quarter of 2020 primarily reflected the impact of lower sales.

Teledyne Group as a whole reported net revenues of 743.3 million US dollars for the second quarter of 2020, down 4.9 percent compared to the same quarter last year. Net income was 93.7 million US dollars in the second quarter of 2020, 10.4 percent less than in Q2 2019.
