Siemens and machine manufacturers launch data alliance for AI in manufacturing
Siemens has formed an alliance with machine tool manufacturers and the machine tool laboratory at RWTH Aachen University to promote data exchange for AI applications in industrial manufacturing.

This partnership aims to increase efficiency and innovation cycles through AI technologies with the help of the Siemens Industrial Foundation Model. The exchange of anonymized machine data enables the development of AI models tailored to industrial requirements. Use cases include the automated creation of part programs, predictive maintenance and adaptive manufacturing processes.
Siemens sees this as a great opportunity for Europe's economy, particularly in sectors such as automotive, chemicals and mechanical engineering. The alliance plans to involve other companies in the long term in order to use artificial intelligence across all industries. Roland Busch, CEO of Siemens AG, emphasizes the importance of high-quality machine data for the development of powerful AI systems.
