Panasonic is restructuring its camera business: Accordingly, the European business units "Security Solutions" and "Industrial Medical Vision" (IMV) will be merged into the newly founded independent company i-PRO Emea B.V. (i-PRO Emea). Both business units are headquartered in Wiesbaden, Germany, and are currently still part of Panasonic System Communications Company Europe (PSCEU). The new company is scheduled to begin operations on Oct. 1, 2021, as part of Japan-based Panasonic i-PRO Sensing Solutions Co. (PIPS).

With a participation of 135 participants from 23 nations the 19th EMVA Business Conference Special Edition 2021 took place online. During the individual B2B sessions about 90 virtual bilateral video meetings were arranged between conference attendees before and after the conference program in the afternoons.

The EMVA announced that the new release 4.0 of the EMVA 1288 Standard for objective characterization of industrial cameras, which is successfully used worldwide, has become effective. The release takes into account the rapid development of camera and image sensor technology. The EMVA 1288 standard, hosted by EMVA, is part of the global G3 standardization initiative in which the five leading machine vision organizations A3, CMVU, EMVA, JIIA, and VDMA cooperate.
