He spent 20 years at Rofin-Sinar in various roles, including Vice President of the Macro group, responsible for strategy, technology, operation, sales and service of high-power laser sources and systems. “Thorsten Frauenpreiss provides a perfect blend of laser and photonics experience and knows what it takes to deliver customer success,” says Jeff Parker, Senior Vice President Global Light and Motion Sales & Service at MKS. “His strong background in global high-tech sales and business leadership, together with his broad market overview, is a perfect fit when it comes to driving market share and developing new growth opportunities in the region.”

“I am honored to join the MKS team to further accelerate the growth of the Light and Motion division. The Newport, Ophir, and Spectra-Physics brands are leaders in the photonics industry and enable MKS to be the only company worldwide to offer the “Surround the Workpiece” full-service offering. I am excited about the challenges of leading the local teams as Managing Director and leveraging sales and marketing activities in the whole EMEIA region,” explains Frauenpreiss.

Frauenpreiss has served on multiple advisory boards for global technology companies and institutions and presided as director of several boards for Rofin-Baasel for more than five years. He holds a diploma in mechanical engineering, with focus on production technology, from Leibniz University of Hanover, Germany. (Source: MKS)
